Guest vin
All the signs are telling me its time to call it the end of ferreting season...but Im still desperate for a big bag day with a catch over 30 if poss. over 40 would be my best day yet and Im gagging to do it before end of this seaon. Ive got at least another couple of weeks maybe more at a push,in most of the spots i have been going this year we have been finding nests and milky dows.. so its gonna be a long shot for me to drop on a new spot thats going to produce a big bag. anyone needing a hand on a big job let me know and I,ll willingly help out with dogs.ferts, nets, transport etc etc. im already looking forward to next year and the plans I have made to improve upon my hunting pack. I hope you have all enjoyed this season as much as I have. Thanks to all the lads for the very kind invites out on thier land. Roll on next winter good luck One and All. vin Quote Link to post

Sometimes you have no choice if your on pest control jobs. Some places they are still ok with this last cold snap we have had.. It varies for all of us my friend. Brimmer 220
Most folks know my opinions on hunting when they are in young, like stated they never seem to stop breding in some areas, but i think if you hunt end of Sept to the middle of Feb then you are pretty much doing your bit to avoid killing out of season animals, and thats what it is in reality, out of season. Call it pest control if that makes you feel better, (Are you get paid for it?). My opinion, if you get stuck in through the bad weather and cold wet months you can usually have your ground cleared by the time the young uns are showing, if you cant, then you probs have too much permission, move over and let some young shaver take over. jambay5 191
My first season back ferreting for 20 or so years started off poor, but have made some good friends and now out every weekend and loving it. so much so not been out lamping since December!! (the £ fine but me off a bit 2 lol) last week got the biggist bag of hunting life 14 not a lot by some standards. but being in the pub Saturday night with fingers stinging like hell, ferrets living off fresh rabbit every day, plus the odd rabbit pie and stew has made it for me and hope to meet up with some of you lot off here at some of the shows in the summer. Happy Hunting Quote Link to post
