morton 5,368
A dog that gets out in the field on a regular basis is to me a working dog,i rarely rate a dog on the amount it catches, some dogs only hunt where there is little to catch, others work where the numbers are abundant and therefore should catch more, which is the better dog?.The main thing is giving the mutt some exercise, enjoying the sport and looking at any catch as a bonus and not the main reason for being out and about. 3 Quote Link to post

B.P.R 2,798
Personally I get out ferreting as much as possible whilst I'm juggling work, being away and a family. Its my first running dog and My wee whippet has had 2 serious injuries so hasn't seen much at all. I've had her out the past month. So WOW! I officially have my first WORKING dog Quote Link to post

chartpolski 25,105
I've got two "Working Dogs". They are kenneled, they work, and they are treated like heroines ! I also have, in my house, two "pet" dogs; they get fed, excersised and looked after with the same intensity as my working dogs. If you keep a dog , weather pet or worker, they deserve the same attention , feeding, excersise, and housing !! Cheers. 1 Quote Link to post
