its well worth having for £40 mate ...15 to 20 yards you can have a good crack with the rats, in barns with the pigeons they do alright

Hi mate

Just resorrected a ratcatcher in .22 after it had not been used for over 6 years. If you can check it on a chrono, it would help decide what you can and can't do with it. The one I have is putting out 9 ft lb's so wouldn't really use it for much past 20 -25m. It still had a co2 canister stuck in it from years ago which was an arse to get out but after a bit of effort we got there!. Would probably benefit from a seals change at some point but not urgent.

Plenty of after market stuff available like mounting blocks for a decent scope, trigger springs etc, but you may want to consider the spend/ benefit ratio.

£40=00 is worth it if you are happy fettling. I'm pretty shoddy at DIY and managed.

Good for £ 40 but no good for rabbits really it will only let them get a way and die in a bush some where :( only really for back garden shooting kids starter gun !!!!

Yes there are better alternatives for rabbits as they are not full power. But I used mine for a good few years when they first came out and had 000s of rabbits with it and hare for that matter as well. You obviously need to head shoot them and keep the range to a minimum. I ended up using mine with an old Gen1 night site I had (the sight only had an effective range of up to 25 yards) so suited the rifle well

Another way to look at it is, is shooting a rabbit at 25yards with a 9ft lb rifle not comparable or better than shooting a rabbit with 12 ft lb rifle at say 45-60yards which is considered within the air rifle sections as something to aspire to or be proud of?
