hi gents, i have the extraction problem on my 22lr, i know there's a mod that can be done on the extractor hook to sort this out, just wondering how far i need to grind it down by. if any of you have done this successfully can you measure yours and let me know.

Got the same problem with mine, it'll be good to know how to sort it as I was going to get the local gunsmith to do it.

This problem is to do with the extractor ports on the barrel/breech face

 

 

Take the barrel out and put a spent case in to see for yourself... the rim of the case doesn't protrude far enough across the ports to allow extraction

 

There is a simple solution - take a file, about the size of the extractor port and run it over the port 2-5 times ish - until you have given enough space for the round to protrude over the port! simples!

 

 

GMK's solution is to increase teh chamber for some reason!!! but the above works a treat, just remember you can take more away but not add to it!

cheers for that, i can see why gmk might want to ream out the chamber a bit as they're a bit tight, i did read on PW a while back that someone had the same problem and ground down the extractor claw instead, yours seems like the better of the two ideas so i'll give it a go tomorrow.
