just inherited an airsporter , unfortunately some fool has cut the barrel down ridiculously short and chewed the end up (sacrilege) ,so i am desperate to find a cylinder and barrel , not an expert but been told that replacing barrels is a nasty job they are brazed in, anyone help ? cheers

Hi Bollin, I was once given a dead airsporter to play with where someone had seperated the cylinder and barrel.....My barrel was soft soldered in. Not brazed.........not difficult to replace except you then have to reblue the barrel and cylinder.

You can try here...

http://www.airgunspares.com/store/

John Knibbs does have an enormous stock of parts, but it will cost.... and he may only send it to a RFD at your cost.

or if you are looking at a cheaper possible solution, Call John Knibbs, he is very knowlegable and ask if the other BSA barrels are soft soldered into their breech blocks....if they are, get your self any BSA barrel from the same period, and just heat it up, seperate the barrel from the block ...then split your air sporter in the same way, and just put the new barrel in to the old cylinder, and heat them up. As both parts will be tinned, they should go back together easily. If they don't come apart when heated, cut of the breech block, and use that slightly shorter barrel.......the only difference will be that you will need to tin it before soldering the two parts together.

or you could just keep an eye on ebay untill you see one.

Hi guys I and 2 mates are looking for some permission for some rabbit hunting in cornwall but can’t find where to ask. I and my mates are all greatly skilled with air rifles from just sitting in the back of our gardens with targets roughly 50-100yards and want to move onto small game so if anyone knows of anyone in cornwall that would give us permission please let me know.

Hi, we're having a sudden rat infestation on our small holding in North Cotswolds. Wondering if there are any people around with ratting dogs who want a bit of work?
