Kritti..what camera have you got?

Your settings are wrong what you are using, some of them last shots should have come out mint, you should be seeing the lice on the feathers on them..

the camera is a canon 500d with a canon ef 75-300 is lens. I've looked at the booklet but can't figure out most of it so don't bother with it now. I guess i'm a bit long in the tooth for new gadgets :duh:

don't know about P and A but it is on spot metering but it's always spotting on the outer spots when i've got the subject in the centre spot so I use manual focus most of the time. Thanks for the info mate

Think its av on Canons Kritti , you just have to read the manual and get out there and experiment

Im still going through this stage myself and there seems loads to remember , sometimes i switch to auto settings to give me a close idea

AV. is aperture priority. ...TV. is shutter priority.. or. (time value)...P.is for program.....M. is manual... A.dep. is automatic.depth of field.

these settings are on my canon.350D. Rebel xt. and should be the same as far as i'm aware. hope this helps.cs
