I have this terrier that 10month old he's from a working background (fox) and with it being my first I am looking for advice, I just can't get him to come back to me when I shout him he just F%$£s off :search: . I have kept his nut's due to the fact that I would like to breed from him in the future whn I get a bitch but I am now thinking about having um off to stop him wandering......any ideas anyone???

Thanks

only thing having there nutts choped of does is they can't sire pups,, you could well of left it to late with your pup 10 months is a long time for him to be doing what he wants, training should of started the sameday you got him

Nuts off makes no difference, i look after a friends lab alot he had his dogs off no difference and then went to one of these electric shock collar trainers, went to a few lessons and ended up buying a collar and handpiece, now a quick bleep bleep bleep from the handpice to the collar and he comes jogging back every time, and they dont harm the dog at all. :good:

Keep his nut on otherwise if you ever have to sell him,you wont.If he keeps buggering off then I am afraid you will have to keep him on a lead.I wouldnt even make plans for breeding until he has atleast 2 seasons and a good number of decent digs under his belt.

If he is well bred and you do throw the towel in give me a shout I might buy him off you :11: If your that worried get one of those retractable lead things. Can we have a pic of him it makes the posts a lot more interesting :D

I found my terrier pups went through phases when training them, you end up ripping your hair out when you think you have cracked it and then a couple of weeks down the line they start doing it again. You just have to keep at it and be consistent. He is still a pup at his age. It might not click till he is matured.

Castration does absolutley nothing for a dog other than prevent pups. They will still hump other dogs, fight etc etc.
