Recommended Posts

hi lads

have a spot of trouble with the ev2 when i got this gun it was completely seized it had been left in damp conditions cocked for about 6 month ive managed to free it up and put it on a crono it was at 5.3ftb so i changed that t 11.3ftb at 15 yards its pellet on pellet i took it out in the field to do some plinking at couldnt get a zero under 1" at 35 yards and if you leave it standing for 5-10 mins the 1st pellet out drops 6-10 inches short ...its holding its pressure my next step is re crono it and try some different pellets im also wondering if the outside temp could of effected it as the s200 was doing the same (apart from pellet dropping) the outside temp was 1c .... anyone else have any other ideas ?

Hiya Gary.

Did you have the EVO proffessionaly serviced, or did you do it yourself mate?

Inch grouping could be pellet choice, worth thinking about.

Did you shoot the group with the Air stripper on or off Gary??

I reckon that stripper acts as a barrel wieght aswell as a stripper, shooting without it, could affect the barrels harmionics, just a thought buddy.

As for leaving it standing for 5/10 mins and the first pellet out, dropping by 6 inches, I wonder if the non return valveing is leaking a tad mate?......guessing.

Next time you chrono, cock the rifle and wait the 10mins, then put one through, and see what reading you get.

Compare that to cock and shoot straight away.

hi bill

im gonna try a different pellet and check the crono again ... if that fails im gonna have a trip down to adi's to get him to look at it (i got it going from it being seized) but with regards to a full service including the reg thats best left to the professionals

Hi Gary.

hi Gary

your 1st cheapest option is to zero it again when the temperature is 6 degree Celsius and rising,as below 2 degrees it affects most things?

we had a massive problems P.O.I. change, at iden fearns Sunday as chaz has said. due to temp! was minus 8 when we got there and it didn't feel like it was rising at all through the comp! I dont think it got passed 1 degree Celsius

your second would be complete O ring/seal change,if you need a talk through DVD on how to do it let me know ?

providing its pretty much the same as the 400 series, not that clued up on the Evo.

if you need a seal kit for it try Julian on AAOC.

dont forget? O rings/seals have a life shelf too!

your third option would be pellet change, given the price of pellets this day N age!

but dont rule out buster's option, especially if its been lying around to.
