I find that a little strange to be honest, I don't have experience with the large bull breeds but I have plenty of experience with large man work breeds, German/ Dutch bred stuff and if you had beaten them enough they would have killed you!

 

IMHO a terrier is the only dog that benefits from a thrashing, for almost all other breeds anything more than a cuff is a complete waste of time.

I could be wrong, but I would think anything with decent bull blood in a good percentage would take you to pieces if you kept on beating it?

if thats the case the breed wouldnt be here pal bulls are bred not to bite humans thats a fact they were culled mate all dogs should show respect no matter what liberties are taken...

true , the yank dog trainer ceasar what ever is name is lol as feckin 20 dogs loose ,and got 1/2 dozen pits in there . Not 1 dog kicks off, because he is the boss simple . As i said ive had 3 bullxs , a pure bitch, and none of them started on any strange dog, get it to there heads when pups, and never let no differnt when older. But you can get a bad dog in any breed, there aint alot you can do about that.!! only 1 thing and we all know what that is. bullx is just a dog nothing more nothing less, treat like any other, and you wont have any probs

Totally agree i took this bitch on a little blind she is a tremendous grafter and will take whatever you throw at her but i too believe she has been let down as a pup ATB RY.

Bull x,s should be no more prone to this incident than any other lurcher/running dog type imo. Its all about training and tuning in with your dog thats all..no special formula just that. Why should bull x,s be ruled with an iron fist? Are they summat special as a breed type..i think not..they are just the same as any breed imo..the only difference maybe is the power of jaw they yield..atb stabba

well people ive had bull breeds since i was born and i think they are different to other dogs when confronted most dogs would be happy just to have a little snack at the other dog where as the bull breeds just want to rip the other dog to pieces and wont stop until its done that i think they are normal dogs until they are confronted by another dog then there minds tick a different way if they were normal dogs you could walk along the beach with them of the lead like every1 else but you cant because you know if a dog just looks at it wrong well thats

i have to say giving your dog a hiding is wrong and wont acheive anything,but i will agree with wilf and thats unlikly lol, i know a good bull will turn on you and give it to you if you upset them too much, the way i see it is some dogs wont start it but when they go can finnish it, i have heard of loads of bull x in this instance and allways get the bad press, i hope it doesnt become a common topic or youll have the same happen to what happend to the pits and i know a convicted dog fighter from the 70/80s who said it was mainly bad owners that brought it on top for that breed, his statement not mine about the pit bull not lurchers

Please don't take this the wrong way as it is meant in the spirit of true conversation, but to me, if I owned heavily bull blood saturated dogs and they could be cowed be regular beating then I would question the quality of the bull blood.

As I said, not trying to dig at you just my own humble and inexperienced opinion.

I've seen far worse damage done form big rangy greyhoundy types, sporting serious ivory, in the first skirmishes of battle than big bull crosses. As bird said, no mythical hell beasts, just Lurchers, so don't paint 'em like one..

Wtf read the post the terriers started it and as for saying bullxs are too much I av got to disagree if you walk them and soshalise(spellings shit lol)them a lot there the most loyal dog to own mine are and lads I know that av the same breed there dogs are sound it's all down to the owner at the end of the day

That's why when you buy a dog in you spend a few weeks with the dog getting to know each other and sort the pecking order out unless that's just me lol

had bull mixs 13 year yet to see a bad fight we my dogs even in motor hyped or not.... only time they ever have squabbled is over a peice of meat or a bone an then it was broken up with a shout....
