I've got a staff as well 99% of the time he's fine but he's had the odd fight with my bullx over bones (which was my fault) But I take it mooching with a pack of dogs with a lad off here and he gets along with all the dogs but he wont tollerate shit from any dog. The Duncan 802
Yeah, my pair wont take nonsense but don't go 'ape-shit', just a growl and a snap and leave it at that when any other dog tries it on with them. Even then, it's incredibly rare that other dogs do anything but come and 'say hello' as most are well socialised. Quote Link to post

Most are near me, apart from this akita\boxer mix which has attacked near enough every dog in the local park and yet the woman still insists on walking the fecker off the lead. It met my steel toe cap boot once. Quote Link to post
The Duncan 802
Sounds like the owner could do with a connection with a steel toe cap to me- what an idiot! 1 Quote Link to post
x38 179
if you get a bull x out of a top line and ask it work single handed on quary till the end...... its a world away from pet staff or staff`s and it`s down to you to know your dogs and once that line has been crossed there is no going back ....how many time you seen to dog have a bit of a scuffle and then one dog backs down and the other dog just walks away that because the have never been asked to finish..... i think this what alot of people dont get when comparing Pet dogs to working dogs j m o p and atb x38 2 Quote Link to post

The Duncan 802
I think staffs entered the thread as a poster commented he'd had problems with his as the op had done. No-one was making a proper comparison between pet bull breeds and a full on working bull x. Once my bull x is working flat out, I'll look at making a comparison myself. Interestingly enough, whenmy bull x arrived as a little puppy, the rest of the pack were definitely more wary of her compared to other pups entering the pack. 1 Quote Link to post
johnnylestershair 78
i have listened to all your commets my bull lives in the kitchen with my saluki bitch and she will warn him when he goes near her food as soon as i raise my voice he knows that i want him to listen to me i think some times some owners put there dog in a situation that can be avoided i watch my dogs and i make sure they r not to far away i let them see other dogs and i allways use the word friends it shows them i am happy with them and then i will fuss them it as worked for me as u all know a dog likes to please even a bullx Quote Link to post
GrCh 856
agree I didn't mean to compare the bullx with a staff. Quote Link to post
Darylbob 10
i think because they have that reputation people tend not to try and socialize them , for instance my ex's mam tried to socialize her 7 month old with our merlin, playin away in the back garden then suddenly full blown aggression and a bit of an exchange, but that put her off and now its a little b*****d cant be trusted nr other male dogs at all, dont get me wrong i think they can be good dogs , and x38 regardless of whether they "finish" or not they still have the capability to do alot of damage i wasnt trying to compare the 2 just giving my opinion if you dont want the extra fuss go for a different cross with a sounder temperament Quote Link to post
bracken boy 584
many good points here know your dog be firm keep it muzzled in a public place, on the muzzel point u said why doi need to muzzel it in a public place? id say because its a working dog that has been taught certain things, dogs bite end off, mine are on lead and i dont like other dogs coming upto mine at times, i will decide when and how, anyway shamefor the dog and you in the end..
