Mrg 8
What sort of numbers are you guys getting on roost shoots ? I was out last night and bagged 19 pigeons is this above or below average ? Quote Link to post
The Duncan 802
Would it affect the amount of enjoyment of doing it? I guess all roosts are different, wind speeds, numbers of birds coming in etc etc all have a bearing. 19 is a fair tythe from an average roost though - you don't want to be greedy lol Quote Link to post

Guest cookiemonsterandmerlin
19 on roost shoot is above average is my guess unless your in a prime wood . I got 23 tonight which is very good in our area we have lots of small woods very few large woods so the birds shift alot. Done a night a large fens wood in the early 90s shere the birds tracked into the wood for miles we shot 600 between 8 guns in two hours it was amazing sport but hardly diffcult due to the factor there not another wood for 20 miles. ATB Cookie i have a wood thats a good roost however only try for birds coming in on the wind rather that waiting for then to open up before landing, some of the finest shooting there is on a good windy afternoon imho Quote Link to post
carpentermark 21
I've been out for the past 3 saturday eves: 1st time = 8 2nd time = 8 yesterday = 12 + 2 crows so i reckon 10 is about average for me. Edited February 12, 2012 by carpentermark Quote Link to post

ATB Cookie where was that?? couple of year ago i used to shoot a nice wood, had over 200 shots in an hour and half, pigeons were coming from every where, as soon as you were loaded it was fire. picked up 69, which is not a good ratio but they were coming in quick, Quote Link to post
