I wouldn't mate the two of them together,I think most of them will turn out heavy set.But then again you don't say what you want the pups to do when they are older. If you are keen on breeding from the dam it might be a better idea to put a greyhound over her,of course that would increase the height of the pups. why do you reckon the pups will be heavy using a pure whippet but wont using a pure greyhound ???????? shepp said: Go for a decent greyhound stud, whippet / collie crosses are nearly always too heavy for most things. The whippet frame just won't take the cross well and there will be too much wastage. I was a bit slow in getting back to you socks,I couldn't have put it any better than shep. juckler123 707
Well true but the Quater of the litter that throw to the whippet could be just that bit special ive seen it many times whippetxcollie and whippet x cur there will be one that throws to the whippet and they can take some beating seen some right little rabbit machines bred this way its what you do with the wastage i suppose Quote Link to post
coyote 0
in my opinion ,i would put a greyhound over the bitch need to thin the heavyness out by adding height, also add the speed, she's a looker indeed though. good luck with whatever you use on her ps i breed greyhounds as my business and also breed greyhound x bedlington as a hobby (though the wife says they get more time than she does,so are not a hobby more of a passion!!!!)
