drummer-ben 0
Hi everyone, im having problems with the recall of my Lurcher, she is 7 months old greyhound/deerhound/collie/bull she's come back to me the odd time when she was about 4 months old but she just blanks me now so I was just wondering if anyone would kindly give me some advice, she seems keen enough to chase but I don't dare let her off just incase she doesn't come back. Thanks for any advice in advance. Quote Link to post
PUP lurcher 32
this has work for me in the past. when out with your dog just on the casual walk, dog of the lead. Keep calling the dog back now and again, then mack a fuss/praise the dog when it re-calls and after time the dog will learn, when you call it just to come back. Its still a pup yet keep spending time with it and it will learn. Its just keen thats all. atb with the dog. 1 Quote Link to post

Thanks again :-) just you and her you want her to bond with you, you are pack leader then when she is responding to you, then take your other dogs with you, it will not happen over night, it will be hard work but keep at it. Mick C. 229
Brothers got a laguna whippet pup He seems to be frightened of letting it off. Trouble is the less it has its freedoms now the worse it will go on recall. Better taking them places where there are no other distractions. Take him out as much as you can. Even when you are in the garden let him have is head then every now and again call him in and give him a fuss. Should help on the bonding up as well. At the moment i have been taking the whippet out with my two. There recall is good so he just follows them and comes in. Trouble is the pup as started to bond up with me. Let him have is head somewhere quiet and dont start worrying and calling him in no sooner than hes off the lead Quote Link to post
