Country Joe 1,411
Use Hazel its good and its free, Best time to cut Hazel between October and February, the thickness of your little finger, good info in the book for you, peg to peg, by Martin King. first remove all burrs and rough spots then round the top end, normally the thickest then point them. some cut notches in the Hazel for the headline to sit, but i never bothered with this method. some say 24 to 26 inches, but i liked mine shorter 21 inches, an old netter who taught me, also used the method in the book. Take the hazel and place one end into your armpit and strech out your arm, whereyour palmsits on the peg cut it there. I then put them in bundles tied with plastic tyes, and put them in a dry place to dry out. Quote Link to post
