trigger2 3,129
had a visit yesterday from bird and vin for a steady days mooch and ferreting. vin and ray got to mine for around 8.30 we loaded all my car with the ferrets nets and dogs, ray had bryn with him vin brought mollie and i decided to take my pup for his first ever ferreting trip. with the car loaded up i made the first and most important stop which was the cafe for a take away sandwhich each lol. we arrived at the spot at around 9.15 and started our day out. i took ray and vin to the first warren that normally holds a rabbit but there was no mark from the dogs. ( i was instantly starting to panic as i thought it was going to be a bad day) after about another 10 minute or so walk from the first warren we got to another spot which had a few warrens together. the first warren had lots of signs of activity but again there was nothing home, we then moved onto the next when which again was empty. so we tried the next one and at last we got a good mark from birds dog bryn who was spot on. nets on ferrets in and nothing for a while then bang we got our first one in the bag, it wasnt long until the secound bolted and that was the first warren cleared. the next warren we done i thought my pup and vins dog mollie showed alot of interest in a hole which bryn varified with a 100% mark. nets down and another 2 for the bag, by this time i felt releaved as the day wasnt going to be a complete disaster. may i had my pups interest had to be luck as hes never been ferreting before. the day produced a total bag of 13 and a couple of misses but you cant have them all lol. we had 3 digs at a couple of foot which was nice easy digging and wasnt all that bad. all in all we had a very easy days ferreting which couldnt really of gone much better. i would like to thank vin and bird for a great days ferreting and general mooch with no stress. couple of pics Quote Link to post

Guest born to run1083
Nice going lads, all dogs look credit to the owners, trigger looks like by clee hill, I recognise the pull in by the notice board. Theres a farm down the road I used to do when I had permission over that way. Some good hunting round those ways Quote Link to post
