Fair enough if your selling a couple of items on Ebay but if your trading and making a living out of buying and selling why shouldn't you pay tax....i f*****g have too!! Car boot sales and stuff like that is a load of shite. Your hardly going to make millions at a car boot. How they can ever prove anybody does "cash in hand" jobs i'll never know. I don't understand the mentality of someone complaining they have to start paying taxes the same as everyone else, unless they don't use the NHS etc that tax money pays for which I would bet they all do. What is the difference between deciding to be a builder or deciding to be a nurse etc? Why should one not pay as much tax as the other? Doesn't sound right to me...But I also these are the first to complain about immigrants or others on benefits, hypocrites

RubyTex 1,957
Exactly, people are paying tax upon something they've already paid tax on. The taxman would sell his f*****g grandmother for a few extra pennies.

How they can ever prove anybody does "cash in hand" jobs i'll never know. i agree with making a living out of it but when does it become selling a few items and making a living I'd say that if you are selling your own stuff ie you bought it with your wages and then resold it when you didn't want it any more, they can't tax you for that. You paid tax on your wages first, then bought goods and then sold it later on at a loss or at least the same value. If you buy something off ebay or from a car boot then re-sell it at a profit then you are probably supposed to pay tax on those profits.
