Hi Andy

Regarding the Escort shotguns - I bought my son one last October for about £320, he has nailed everything from charlies to pigeons with it.

It is a little finicky with 26-28g loads but for sensible lead it does the job really well.

But take a little advice, just wait a little while and wait for the launch of a new brand in the UK, even Beretta are nervous about them.

Hello the pes12 baffle would be better than a t8 in the long run i know it's longer but it's a better mod 1 of the best.A-TEC mod's are the new sliced bread but iv not seen or tryed 1 yet at the moment i work 2 t8's on a 22.250 & 25/06 but would like a pes or try the new A-TEC & see but there £275 i think but like pes there s/s with aluminium part's whare less stength needed.I work a fabarm 6 shot work's every thing but can be fidly with 65mm cart's but not all from 28g/50g it's great just the odd 65mm cart funny.

I have an a-tec, and its far and away the best moderator available today. Its aluminium, with stainless parts, and its a LOT quieter than a t8 or Pes, and i,ve got several of those too. There isnt an official importer, but there is a chap called col48 on uk varminting that gets a few over.

Escort cant fault, really pleased with, Just wish i could say the same about T8,s. :censored: Bought two was very pleased at first but even with what became bordering on fanatical cleaning regime they rusted at the end, then one night out fired at a fox and my mate commented about almost losing his eye, :blink: The bloody thing had rotted from inside out, hole about 1mm straight through the outer wall, contacted them direct (jacksons), said i didnt clean it, explained but the snotty cow wouldnt listen, and just kept bleeting (limited warranty), :censored: Will never ever buy one again even if it was the only company selling mods.

Now tell this warning to everyone looking at buying a moderator, if they had put their hand up and stood by their product then fair enough, BUT THEY DIDNT.

BUYER BEWARE. :no::no::no::no:

Thanks guys good info.i dont know much about mods cause when i had my rifle they would not give you one.I have read that you take the mod off to stop it eating the rifling and also spray wd 40 ect inside the mod so the next time you use it it will blow the particles out,is this true?I will post pics of this mod and rifle (its my pals) to see what yous think.

thanks again andy :)

i canot understand why most mods are so darn expensive, i get old cases from buds ,made from a descent construction & baffle the can myself.......upto cals of 243.......

i pleased to boast mine are better than most jls / dm & t models !!.. :D

as far as the escort shotty's are conserned, every one who has them seem to love 'em...personally ,been an engineer, i recon the quality grade steel is satisfactory to bs stds....but they are no berretta !!! by a long way, :hmm:

if you want quality & value , with prooven history...go FRANCHI :victory:

you get what ya pay for in the shotty market...

thats my 2 pennath worth..
