RubyTex 1,957
Went for a mooch with the dogs after work, i normally keep them both on the lead as we're in a built up area with main roads. Thought tonight i'd give Tex a bit of freedom and see how he went as he hasn't had chance to be off lead in ages. At first he walked to heel perfectly, but i could tell he was itching to go after a few sniffs so let him hunt around the brush which is on roughly a 20 acre field. Nose to the ground off he went, flushing two cock pheasant and three hens within five minutes, and bolted a rabbit which only just made it down the warren with Ruby hot on it's heels. Had a bit of a Fenton moment getting him back but all in all i am chuffed to bits. It's great seeing your hard work do the job that it's asked of. It's a real shame you can't shoot on the land as he flushed them perfectly within 20/30 yards. I love it when a plan comes together!! Quote Link to post
