gnipper 6,509
Got one in the middle of a paddock that we had 32 out of when it was about a 7 holer, not a nettle or bramble in sight. It's about a dozen holes now and never as productive as that first time but normally holds a couple. Quote Link to post
Guest cookiemonsterandmerlin
I pefer the ones in the middle of a blackthorn hedge none of this easy pessy open field warrens . I dont thinkI have fav warren but have a fav farm where the curies are all on nice chalk downland there deep with alot of steps in the chalkline in the subsoil . Such wonderful views when working but the coneys have been hit with mixy and vhd to point of not worth hunting just letting the few build to havestable level. Cookie Quote Link to post
Jamie m 668
Have an old old sweet chestnut stump on a paddock it sits in the fence and act as an entrance and exit to the property allways holds good numbers , easy start to the day and allways action , Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
We have a few. I quite like the one in my garden Quote Link to post
Dazzam 239
Not a favourite warren but a secret place. I reckon most of us who ferret when we come upon a good piece of ferreting ground try to keep it to ourselves. Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
There is a gully near me, on one of my farms. Johnnyboy and i often go there and i take the dog and ferret there myself quite a lot. Its very narrow at one end, but opens out into a wide bowl. There are maybe a dozen warrens in it of varying size, and usually on any one day a couple of them will hold, and you will find one or two above ground. It's a pleasant place to spend and hour away from the world. Quote Link to post
max abell 196
Got a warren about 20 holes in the middle of 3 massive warrens 2 of which are not on my permission it's always good for a few rabbits it seem's to keep filling up from the big ones Quote Link to post
CWN-HELA 228
Any warren that holds a rabbit. Up my way its hard to find an easy warren with no snags in the way, either black thorn, brambles, sheep wire, barbed wire. Quote Link to post
