price of rabbits

Recommended Posts

Rabbits making a good price has to be a good thing.

I was selling skinned rabbits 25 years ago for £1.50. I struggle to get £1 per rabbit in it's jacket off the tight arse gamedealers around here. Most are selling out of the door for between £4 and £7.

It's good free range food, and should be worth at least £5 skinned in my opinion.

same here £1 each in there jackets with the guts dropped. its been a quid for as long as i can remeber however he does pay 50p each for squirrels/

Anyone got any idea of anywhere within 100miles of south wales i can get a good price?

have you ever thought about off loading a few rabbits for a decent price to some of these reptile and snake shops, because i know if you find the right shop which keeps large snakes, thats what they feed some of them on....a mate of mine was exchanging rabbits that he'd caught while out with me, not gutted.....and in return he was getting rats for his snakes,

all the best,

jay.

I asked about that around this part of the world. None would take "non certified" rabbits. Part of the reason was to do with unknown nasties killing the snakes which by all accounts are worth a lot of money. Another worry for the shops was lead/copper fragments, but they wouldn't even take say netted or ferreted bunnies. They actually import them from England, f*****g madness.

Paul, I'd pay you that for squirrels!:laugh:

Rabbits only fetch a quid each down here as well - to me they are worth more as meat for the table.
