B.P.R 2,798
Just wondering what you's think is the best camouflage pattern about for use in a general woodlands environment. There's literally hundreds to choose from and some better than others. There's the old British army green DPM (distorted pattern material) to the new MTP ( multi terrain pattern). Then there's your overseas armed forces like the german 'flecktarn' camo and then the American variations. On the other side of the scale you have deerhunter and the country sports camo (which I'm not familiar with). I have various types of camo clothing from my travels and amongst the best has to be the new British MTP. Also like wearing the german army trousers as they're different. With regards to camouflage in the field the old DPM was spot on if it wasn't brand new and was faded a little but the new MTP is just as good. What's your opinions? What others is there? Thanks

I clearly saw my mate, but did not know my brother was there till he stepped out onto the open field. Any army camo everytime for me.
Caprelous 217
It all depends what your quarry is. in respect to deer its been proved that its shades and differences that they see and in particular they struggle to see grey drab colours , so anything disruptive with multiple shades will be ok. Their eyesight consists of pillars or rods which pick of different light. However they are very perseptive to ultra brightners found in most washing powder where when washed in these powders your clothes glow and stand out like a beacon so its imperative that you use non brighness enhancers such as natural soap flakes like lux etc. Not sure if other animals or birds see these brightners so cant comment on that , know doubt some one on here may advise one way or another. Personally I wear disruptive patterm polly cotton all in one suit for roe stalking with being all in one it also keeps the ticks out. Hope this helps Stuart Edited February 7, 2012 by Caprelous

WILF 47,353
IMHO the very best camo pattern is lack of movement, keep still and almost anyone is hard to spot up against background foliage.
tegater 789
It doesn't matter what the camouflage is providing you then blend in with the background. I for example wear different colours if lying out in heather to those I would ware laying out in an autumn bracken bed, or rock pile. The whole thought process should revoke around the principle of "Visual deception by disguise"
