StephenHewitt 0
Hi, I bought a webley xocet .22 as a starter rifle. It came with a Simmons 4 x 20 scope cross hair. Hit a few things with that set up ( pigeons, squirrels, ect. ) but I knew it needed a new scope. I've recently bought a hawk sport hd 3-9 x 40 scope, a big difference in accuracy ( only done a few targets, but can tell the difference as I can now actually see things lol ). I'm now trying to decide whether to get a vmach tuning kit to improve the accuracy and reduce the recoil OR do I just buy myself a cheap Pcp rifle which will resolve these problems anyway... Any helpful comments welcome, thanks for reading Steve Quote Link to post
StevoSmith 147
Great rifle mate....it should be chronoing at about 11flbs mate so no need to tune....however if mem serves me correct they benefit from having a Gas Ran fitted but im sure more experianced guys could tell you more Fitting new more powerful springs would make it twang like old banjo lol and recoil will be a nightmare Edited February 6, 2012 by StevoSmith Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Trade it in for a pre-charge, you'll love it, or go for the pre-charge and keep the springer too Quote Link to post
StephenHewitt 0
To be honest if I do get a pcp I will probably keep the springer as it's worth nothing, but I know it would never see the outside of a cupboard again, I'm not the type for more than one gun, thanks for the advice Steve Quote Link to post

Elmer_Fudd 28
well don't got for a pcp all the info i can find and research i have done leads me to this; Spinger all the way for a fist rifle and master the art of this, how it feels reacts and does what it does. Then as you get onto a pcp it will be easy to do like a walk in the park. Before i got back into it properly bought a few cheap springers and off i went plinking away learning how to shoot and what i was capable of. PCP are the luxury air guns they make life easy but also undermine the skills of using an air gun. Hope my resarch has helped you and its some what clear mate. ATB GARETH Quote Link to post
The Duncan 802
Gareth and his research are right. The springer will force you to hone your technique and keep it 'honest'. If you grip or rest the rifle, it will punish you with misses. You keep a good sense of independence with a springer too! My bag did not improve when I went from HW95K to HW100S. ATB and good luck, Duncan Quote Link to post
Sjt657 191
Pcp are not the most reliable or dependable ! Quote Link to post
robwelsh 354
V macho kits , do make the rifle smoother..there's washers in the kit to adjust the power ..I love springers but pcps are good is just try the kit..a lot cheaper and more fun with springers Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
Sjt, modern PCP rifles are extremely reliable and very rarely let you down. If you look after them properly, and replace seals regularly, you should never have any problems. As for the v mach kits, don't even bother. It won't make it shoot any better (probably worse) and you always have the risk of pushing it over the limit and getting in a lot of trouble. Quote Link to post
