my 3 days ferreting

well after school on Friday me and a mate went out with the lurcher's for a mooch over the hills an found some good rabbit sets and seen lot of hares and gained some more permission for ferreting and lamping. The dogs had some good runs so after some running we had a brake and had a drink and walked down the valley and a lady came up tp us asked us what are use doing with the dogs and if we had permission at that time we didn't have it so we walked down over the hill and there was a farm so i asked for permission. It was the same lady who asked us so i spoke the farmer he said al give you a chance and for god sake don't chase the livestock with your dogs so we walked back over the hills looking for sum more rabbit sets. We found a few then it was getting on so we headed back to my house. my mate stayed the night so we went lamping at an other place but as my dads dog was chasing a rabbit it ran in to a plough field and his stopper had rip open so kept him on the lead for the rest of the night and let my pup have a go at a rabbit on the lamp he missed one so we headed home.

 

 

Right to the ferreting on Saturday we woke up at 6am and got every thing ready had some breakfast and we left at 7am it was still dark but at the time we got to the hills it was braking light. As we got to the first set we left a few holes open for the dogs i took my pup and the whippet x. but there was nothing at home so we went down the valley and had a course of an big ear bit it jumped a wall it the pup wouldn't jump over. so at the next warren it was pretty big still nothing at home so as we got to the quarry i heard someone shouting my name so i i went to see who it was and it was my dads couzzin he had his ferrets so we went with him. we went to the top of the hill and set the nets down and got 5 out of the first warren. then moved to an other warren on the side of the hill and got 3 so it started to ran and hail stones so we headed back home.

 

On Sunday me and my little brother went to a bit what was a bit closer and took the terrier and the whippet x and got 5. it was the 3rd warren we done and got 3 out of so we moved to a 3 holer and got 1 out of then 2 a 10 holer but 1 missed the net and the terrier coursed it and got it so that was my dayd ferreting will put some pic up later alb daryl

God weekend mate and write as I do should always get some pics I should do a big write up got three in the team now so can cover more ground so I'll see what I can build up and put it out ATB no1
