Ideation 8,216
Yes del, i am leaning toward a spaniel / hound or spaniel / terrier at the moment. Does anyone remember who bred those cocker / teckles ? Quote Link to post
dogs-n-natives 1,182
I used to run terrier/spaniel. Also terrier/spanial/beagle to flush fox, rabbit and deer from all cover. Great at the job, and if I need such dogs in the future I will go down the same road no questions. Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Thats pretty much what i need matey. Did you notice much difference between span / terrier and span / terrier / beagle. Quote Link to post
Guest joball
I find the best thing to do is just get one and get on with it, there's not much more can be said! Than what hasnt already. 2 Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Aye mate, it's about finding the right litter though isn't it. You gotta have it for maybe ten years, so it might as well be the best you can get and the most suited to the task needed. Buy in haste, repent at leisure. I'm also hoping if i keep going on, some one will point me in the direction of a cracking litter. Quote Link to post

I guess that's one of the reasons so many dogs are changing hands every two seconds...people just getting one and getting on with it without putting any thought in, then realising they got the wrong one for them. I think i've settled on the kind of x mate, it's just finding well bred litters now. And maybe seeing some dogs work. I've always been one to do a lot of research and looking before i jump into a pup, that way you get what you really want and need. Quote Link to post

Guest smally
morning out and luck on our side.both put out with 1 dog and shot.20 mins apart. as stated different xes for different terrain, mine suit me and can work alone or be part of our beating gang which has all types of xes .from pure spaniels to griffon van deans and beagles.if mine lacked anything it would be his coat and i would love him to have 1 like my pup.but he does his job.
