Getting old ?

Recommended Posts

48 Had to pack up playing rugby 3 years ago knackered knee, lower back and serious shoulder injury getting out of bed is a job in its self these days!! Still working out doors 6 days a week in all weathers but still find time to get out with the dog and ferrets although recovery times are a lot longer and the aches and pains never seem to go

Only 20 years to go before I can afford to retire

Wait till you get in your fifties , every injury you,v ever had comes back to haunt you and it doesn,t help that every time you go to the doctors he wants to shove his finger up your arse.

I'm into my fifties and chalked up another year today. I fell hunt on foot most of the time so never mind slowing down. I walk five miles every other day in work, I don't have to, I chose to, it's bet

Ive been married before most of you were born, still dig and lamp, still have a bit of nookie once a week,(start on friday finish on sunday)

some very funny answers on here,, chuckling all the way through the thread

im 44,, apart from carrying a few more pounds than i should, in the main im fine,, i train 3-4 times a week,, wich definatly helps,

yes i ach after a good days ferreting, or if i have walked about up the dales all night...

the worst thing i found with getting older,,,, was jumping down of things, in particular stone walls,, as a fit young thing i never felt it... but now it realy jars my hips and knees

I know what you mean, slipped on some black ice last night one leg went behind me, other folded up and landed on my knee, jarred everything!

I had to quit competitive martial arts when I was 33, kept teaching for another couple of years before I couldn't stand not being able to fight. Silly damned joint injuries kept cropping up after the age of 30, which never used to happen before.

I can still do weights and lift/press better than I could in my 20's, but I train to peak, rather than trying to be at superman level all the time

I hated getting older, but my hunting activities are nothing anywhere near as strenuous as what I used to do, so I feel I'll be able to do them for decades :)

As long as I can get the dog out and hold a rifle or gun I'll be happy.
