HW100 S 40 metre (43.7 yard) pellet group test

Recommended Posts

Hi lads,

Here is part 2 of the HW100 S pellet group test.

In this part you will see me testing the best 3 pellet brands out of the 4 brands I tested in the 25 metre indoor range.

This time though I test them at 40 lased metres (43.7 yards) outside in the freezing cold to see which brand works the best at a longer range.

Which ones will win do you think?

Will it be the Air Arms Fields that grouped so tight in the indoor range or will it be the wider JSB Exacts?

Could it be the RWS Super Fields pulling back from third place to make a amazing come back?

Will any of them be good enough in the HW100 S to shoot a 1 hole 5 shot group at 43.7 yards?

What would your money be on?

Watch the full review to find out.

Hope you enjoy and as always your comments are very appreciated.

Si and Davy.

Hi Scott,

No mate the barrel wasnt cleaned after each brand but the pressure was the same between brands.

It was too cold to think about barrel cleaning this morning pal.

All the groups were small Scott, and the other 2 brands managed 4 pellets under a 5p coin which in my book I think is good at 43.7 yards. I was happy with them anyway ;)

Also in sub 12 air gun terms the extra 15 metres (16 yards) makes a lot of difference plus from going from inside to outside where there is a movement in the breeze  .

Maybe you should try some RWS Super Field at 4.51mm Scott they may like your barrel as they do mine too.

I can only show what I filmed and the results are what happened buddy.

There was no difference in my shooting and I applied the shooting principles for each brand and shot I did.

Dont forget aswell all barrels are different so yours could be different to mine. Thats why i say the 3 brands are good starter brands to try.

It would be good to see you do a test with your barrel buddy at 40 metres and we can see the difference in barrels and brands through your rifle pal

far too cold to be messing round with cleaning barrels outside.

actually when i saw your first post of the rws superfields i went out and bought some and they were awful in my barrel equal to fx in yours! so you owe me £8 haha.

well today i did do a pellet test at about 20m which i ran 2 mags through of each brand before using another 14 shots for the test and cleaning the barrel every pellet change and also using the same air pressure for the 14 shot test.

i used, bisley mags 4.50, hn ftt 4.51/4.52, weihrauch ftt 4.51,jsb 4.53 and all did great actually

but i will stick with the jsb for now as i am changing my gun soon to one of these which i have on order.

Upppps, LOL sorry buddy.

I did say good starter pellet, all barrels are different LOL.

Keep them as they may work in the Edgun.

Lovely rifle isnt it?

You happy with single shot now pal?

Will you do a review for us the the firum?

I really like it, some people dont.

all reviews about it are amazing and i am off to see a lad tomorrow to have a look at the previous model to see if i am going to choose a standard ( pictured ) or long as the long is still shorter than the hw100 carbine with silencer.

it will be .22 caliber and shooting jsb's as this is what eduard built the rifles to run on using specialy selected lw barrels

single shot wont bother me as i rarely need quick follow up shots.

a FULL review will be a must pal

cant wait!! - wont be ready for dispatch untill march/april

Why dint they perform that well in doors at 25m ?

I must admit the superfield.177are really good in the regged ultra and superfields.22are fantastic.in the HW100kt along with falcon accuracy plus

This is easy to answer pal.

In the 25 metre range if you watch the footage again the first 7 or 8 pellets went through the same hole but then i got very complacent with how easy it was and then the groups opened up abit.

Today due to the breeze i was very careful with my shooting.

I also only shot 5 pellets today instead of 14.

If you was only counting the first 5 in the indoor range the RWS were a 1 hole 1 pellet size group.

Cheers Davy,

Yes the RWS are what i will be staying with in the HW100 S.

4 and 3/4 pellets under a drawing pin was pretty good for me at that range in a breeze i think and like you say its good enough to hit any HFT target at the furthest distance.

To be honest pal i think even if it was at 45 or 50 metres on a windless day i could still get all 5 under a 5p with that rifle and them pellets its that accurate and Im that confident in them both.
