deanflute 550
Decided that I would go ferreting this morning. Got all my stuff together, dropped the mrs off at work and got to my ground just after 9am. Netted up the first set with about 6-7 nets, Didn't really want to leave any un netted for some bolters for the dog because the ground was like bell metal. Ferret in and he stayed in for a good 5 minutes, first 1 in the net shortly after! Straight back in and another in the net after seconds. Got the nets up and moved on Got to my next set and Lola was marking well so I went on her judgement and netted up (about 10) but the ferrets were very reluctant to enter, Tried them both numerous times but they just wouldn't go in. Thats when I spotted the fox droppings! Nets up and away from that 1! Third set, Nice little 3 holer. One hole on one side of the fence and 2 on the other Dropped her in and away she went, no show for 5 minutes so I was just waiting for the bolt! Saw the rabbits head just near the hole and it wouldn't bolt, it turned around and tried to get away. Not easy with a ferret biting your bottom! Put my arm in up to my elbow and pulled it out with the ferret still hanging on! Didn't try any more and I wanted to be away before the snow came! 1 hour session, 3 rabbits 2 Quote Link to post
