2.8 guy 403
millet you muppet read my post i said id bet you the RABBITS would be slower and bigger, WILF, millet has a problem with me saying dales rabbits are slower, this is fact nothing to do with land walls dykes hedges if you've done what you say, you would know, i can assure you my local rabbits are faster than the dales ones i was born into the game and at 35 still 100% at it, i dont talk shit and i am more than willing to prove this, its up to you take me up we will get a independent witness then you can eat your words, INFACT ANYONE WHO WANTS TO BE THE INDEPENDENT PERSON JUST SAY i carnt do fairer than that boys Quote Link to post
Guest Josy
Whats classed as a dales rabbit any rabbit which lives in a field with a stone wall around it? Edited February 3, 2012 by Josy 3 Quote Link to post
Giro 2,648
I would only class a rabbit from the yorkshire dales " a dale rabbit ".. I aint been And would be a independant wittness , I would like to see for myself whats what up there... I have seen rabbits in different areas some easy, some very easy and some flyers.. But lots of varibles and the factors are not just down to the gradient and if there is stone walls on the land.. Quote Link to post
123456 146
I don't give a f**k about dale rabbits or any over rabbits. I'm just interested in what land these dogs have been run on, truth be told the only lads who's opinion I'm interested in is the lads named in the title. 1 Quote Link to post
reddawn 2,173
i aint seen the collie blooded minshaw dogs run so cant comment, but the others iv seen can run on any land, if theres quarry on it that is Quote Link to post
killa-combo 142
Been looking at these minshaw threads and the dale threads with great interest. This thread may or may not apply to tomo as the dogs I've seen of yours have all appeared racey. The question I have is how do the 'collie curs' as they're commonly referred cope on small fields with no real hedges? Have they been on this type of land? But then again how do they cope on land that is large flat fields divided by dykes and everything in between the 2. The reason I ask is I'm interested in these types of dog (heavily collie blooded) and the land I run has no set type but varies as I said from almost fens to small fields that are purely seperated by the like of hazel stands which means the dog is unable to bounce bunnies. why are you botherd? frankel 2,123
As for heavy collie type i have swift in my kennel she has killed on most land and will hopefully add the fens to that shortly.. I went out with a good mate lamping on turf fields and the only thing surrounding the field was a strand of barb wire.. She still made rabbits and the bigger variety look piss easy just picking them up on straights. As for don he has killed on both kinds, mw-89 can vouch for that we went out on really rough land and then mixed it up on some real flat land and it was like a bowling green. He still killed piss easy.. We got 64 that night and that was nowhere near the dales. Most the fields i go in the penrith area are a mixture of flat and hilly fields and always have no fences.
