The hind was shot from the car window but had to be patient for the stag....spent a few hours in a damp and cold hide before one wandered close enough..really struggled with the light and shutter speeds. The hinds and younger calfs were more bold

The hinds and younger calfs were more bold i only see stags normally in the rut up here & then see bigger groups of stags & hinds as the rutts ending , then after the end of nov i only see hinds who normally disapear by may time , then they bring the calfs out august time so i was more than supprised to see stags & hinds today in a big group & there coats look nothing like the deer in your pics , beginning to wonder if this mild spell we had has contributed to it x

Generally speaking the normally stay on the hills and mountains when the weathers ok. The snow always brings them down to lower ground to feed.
