am the same, i believe that although genetics will always have a part to play, its the dog and its owner which will determine if it makes the cut or not

Its hard enough trying to get a decent worker, Never mind takeing the CHANCE on a pup out of a litter of none workers IMHO youd be better holding off and finding a pup out of a litter thats off worker

Spot on mate, You pay your money you take your chance, worker to worker or from pot lickers enter both the same, show them both the same, and IMO you have as much chance with one as you do the other

I haven't got a clue what you're on about, that post bears absolutely no resemblance to the first one of your's I quoted ..

You stated that all dogs were pets at some point when the fact is they weren't..

I thought dogs were once wild then domesticated to pets you say I have no relavence but your post of no they wernt leaves the door open for a manner of suggestion maybe a little more info next time or are you suggesting wild dogs were used as working tools before they were pets??????

It also works the other way, i've got a friend, she's got a pretty good knowledge when it comes to lurchers, having seen her other two right through to old age  , but she bought a lurcher from working stock that deffinately's needs to be worked imo, she's having no end of problems trying to stop the bitch wanting to chase and hunt,... (biggest mistake she ever made, her words not mine). the bitch is a deerhound / greyhound x beddy/ whippet.

dogs came to man thats the general thinking anyway in a kind of mutal pact were they both benifited from protection a mutal type of arrangement the dog with his early warning system [barking] humans there use of tools or weapons to be more precise.you only have to look at some of the critters that were running about in an around the ice age to understand why this pact came about. a simplw way of puting it but thats how man and dogs partnership roughly came about .of course over the thousands of years since the first union, and selective breeding various types of dog have come about.
