What does everyone think the best bait is for stocked rainbow trout?

I got 5 today on worms and sweetcorn, thats all that they allow but what they dont know wont hurt them, Where could you get maggots?

If it's legal where you're located, best bait I've ever used is live minnows seined from the waters you're fishing.

 

Helgramites work wonders as well, but minnows don't bite your fingers when you're putting them on the hook.

power bait is great so i've heard,only seen it in use once but it did work i just stick to sweetcorn though and bread.Another one is pellets quite alot of trout farms rear the trout on pellets so they go crazy for them.

Had 4no. wild brownies last wednesday using Blue Fox spinner size 0.....................2nights later used the exact same lure & had 3no. Bass.............1 at about 3lb..........seems to work alot better when its getting dark......

freelining a bit of bread crust works a treat on my nearest river,for all the local kids .

when you say soaked what do you mean by that dipped in it before you put them on the hook or left in for a hour or two.

Casters arnt dead maggots, there the 'cocoon' stage, maggot=caster=fly=maggots etc.

 

Worms or Maggots, put either infront of most fish and they cant resist

cut the fat of bacon and cut it into strips about 1 cm square an old lad i work with used to do it all the time if he was getting feck all with the flies it works a treat mate
