Guest cookiemonsterandmerlin
Socks is spot on dogs that have had a hard night/day hard running need warmth food hydration . We are all striving for top performance in our mutts you need to treat them like top class racehorses . And banging them away in poor kennels is not the way to get the best from them. Steve McHardy 2
my gundogs an terriers live out all year round in wooden insulated kennels with plenty bedding and seem fine the gundogs all live together 2 cockers, a lab an a pointerxlab but all get well dried before they go back in a a warm meal, Im afraid my running dogs live in the house my collie/gh x bull/gh would live out easy as he has retained a bit of the beardie coat but the wee bullx bitch suffers in the cold plus being in the house help stop the buggers getting nicked which seems to be happenin alot. j1985 1,983
I used polystyrene for wall insulation then covered that with shower room plastic sheets that I managed to acquire from the building site I was on..... Without any electrical heating it warm after the dogs have been in it for 15/20 mins but I'm still going to be putting heating in there soon. Need a new draft excluder as the pup keeps demolishing them so if any one had any ideas on a material that a dog can't destroy to be used as a draft excluder/door flap I'd be grateful.
