wedge2409 98
The forecast looked good this morning sunny 5mph wind increasing to 20 by midday,so i thought it was about time i payed a visit to the farm.On arrival i was met by the farmer, who informed me it was the last syndicate shoot today so i would be unable to walk the fields and woodland, but there was a few feral pigeons and the odd corvid hanging around the farm if i fancied getting rid of some.More than happy to i replied.A few shots at 30mtr's to check zero and i was ready to go.The first feral to present it self was 30 mtr's had the camera set up but wasn't happy with the image so the shot was taken through the scope, first one in the bag .The second pigeon landed on the barn roof at a lazered 40 mtr's still wasn't happy with the scope cam but decided to take the shot, second one was in the bag.At the back of the farm there is a slurry pit that always has rabbits around it .Spotted one sitting in the sun ,range finder out 45mtr's gave it 1/2 mildot holdover shot away clean miss.I hadn't taken into account the wind.a couple of practice shot's at the same distance showed me i needed to have aimed 2 mildots to the right. The wind had picked up and i wasn't happy to take shots over my zero,so it was back to the barns to shoot a few more ferals.Ended the day with 5 feral pigeon and a happy farmer ,will be back next week to see what's around the fields and wood's and hopefully sort my camera out....ste http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_D8I9s0sOK0 Quote Link to post
