ferreting king 9
A local chap has just bought a bull x whippet but its unusual how its bred,.the sire was a non per whippet and the dam is a first x stafford English bull. Which will make the pup 1/2 whippet, 1/4 English bull 1/4 stafford, will this CROSS be any good in the field Quote Link to post

Simoman 110
Give it a fair crack of the whip, your mate wont find out until he tries........... Quote Link to post
asanley 1,009
It might make a decent little knockabout dog . 1 Quote Link to post
FUJI 17,111
Exactly what i was thinking Asanley ..NO it ain't going to be a Fenland dog or pull big Red's but perhaps for a wee bit of ferreting and daytime mooching and perhaps a bit of lamping on the bunnies it may well serve a purpose? Not everyone's cup of tea but then again NOT everyone is feeding, excercising and cleaning up after it so i say like Asanley and Simmo give it a chance before you kick it into the gutter. wirral countryman 2,110
I've seen a couple bred similar 20yrs ago and they were too hard mouthed for rabbit,in fact 1 used to eat a whole rabbit before you could get it off him, they were a bit slow and yapped like gooduns, all in all a waste of time for rabbits but ok for fox (pre-ban of course),atb,WM Quote Link to post
marko 30
might make a good ratting dog and with the whippet in it it should be a bit tasty off the mark. Quote Link to post
Westy76 546
Would like to see any pics of a working EBTxgrew if anyone has any? Quote Link to post
runningdog15 1
a good bushing dog it could be, you will have to wait and see Quote Link to post
The Duncan 802
a good bushing dog it could be, you will have to wait and see Kind of what I was thinking - had a friend with a similar bred dog who used it for flush n kill type shooting. He had to get the quarry off the dog fast if he retrieved (?!) it or the greedy fecker would eat it pretty damn fast lol Quote Link to post
ferreting king 9
Both parents are workers, just spoke to the guy who got the pup, the bitch is a terrier mans draw dog and is well known to the people that need to know , all pups from a litter of 7 were spoken for before they hit the floor, so it was obviously a planned litter Still strange though Quote Link to post
