Help with zeroing rifle in

Hi lads am after some help with zeroing my .223 cz in ,what's the sort of recommended distance have heard one person say you should zero at 100yards an inch low of the bull with centrefires so they are accurate up to 300yds is this true or is there better ways of doing it any help would be great thanks,have got a .223 cz America and am shooting 55g remmington express cheers kris.

also depends if you like dialling in the shot, my swede is zeroed at 120mtrs, most of the foxes i shoot are baited in a particular spot and it's pretty much bang on from 50mtrs, i haven't pushed it further yet as the need hasn't arisen.

i've been out today with 243 to check my sighting in and and i've ended up with it an inch high at 100 yrd seems to suit me ok ,but after shooting from bench and rest i thought i would have a few shots to practice off the sticks, bad idea, its done my confidence a world of good .NOT, the wind got up and i could hardly keep it on the A4 sheet of paper never mind near the bull ,after it settled down a bit i was getting groups within the dreaded 4" circle ...practice practice practice. :victory:
