Airedales

Just lately my misses is driving me up the wall for an airedale as i have my pat an a lurcher i cant really say no.. Without an earache so i was wondering is there any decent bushing lines around or are working airedales a thing of the past thanks all

There shite even the american import's that some folk over here are laughed at by the yank's i dont think they rate them either :thumbs:

 

There's plenty of working Airedales in the USA: some may be shite, but there's good as well. Mine is a good one IMO: mind you, she's never had the opportunity to hunt boar, cougar or bear, but she hasn't let me down on our English game and she's flushed everything which is normally shot. Works well for the lurchers too and no cover is too thick for her.

 

Like any breed of dog, you get your fans and your critics. What I can say is that, in my brief experience of the breed, they are a multi tasking dog with great noses, a natural desire to retrieve and the persistence and stamina to work all day, whether that be on the shooting line, bushing or flushing vermin to guns. Good house dogs too. They are slow to mature, and need patience and kindness in training, rather than brutality and they're real people dogs.

 

But I don't know if an English show bred Airedale would be as capable as the working bred ones from the States. Most of the UK bred ones seem pretty brain dead in comparison.

mate of mine has redline airdales dog an two bitches one rough an 2 smooth he might have pups he also has a lurcher bred of the dog he lives in n ireland wouldnt be my choice for a working dog but he is happy with them pm me if you want his number he wouldnt be hard to talk to
