matt_hooks 188
A very experienced shotgun coach I know removes them whenever someone turns up with one on their gun. The last thing you should be looking at is a bead on the end of your barrels, in fact some of the best shots I know remove the bead as a matter of course. Quote Link to post
pipcock 21
i also know a experienced coach that leaves them on or fits them...... if you are left eye dominant and shoot off the right shoulder or right eye dominant and shoot off the left shoulder ,read up people on the easyhit site and understand what they are intended for ,its nothing to do with looking at the bead instead of your target its all about tricking your brain in correcting your vision. it learns / trains and tells you that you are mounting the gun correctly after you have masterd that you can get shut of it ..... ps. loads of people who are new to shooting or even old hands at the game and dont hit much have never heard of eye dominance. 03milesR 6
I do believe about the trickery of the mind, i do intend of getting as i am a first time shooter and also a left hander! But i am very interested about if it really works! I had read online and i understand why the science behind it... Has anyone used a shotgun without and then used a shotgun with and seen /noticed the difference? Quote Link to post
tegater 789
I wonder how many people who say they are no good, actually take off the standard bead that comes factory fitted because a bead is not needed. Quote Link to post

miroku moocher 140
i have a ruby red one on my gun. and i'm undecided about it . but for me personaly it just attracts my eye to it. i was shootin last week and realised when the quarry was against a uncluttered background''the sky'' i would miss. because the bead made me look at it..lol. i shot a woodcock in the birch scrub realy twiggy clutterd background' and dropped it clean. then i realised .i realy hard focused on the bird threw the twigs, swung threw fired and dropped it. shooting threw cover made me focus harder on the target and drew my attention away from the bead. Nik_B 3,790
I wonder how many people who say they are no good, actually take off the standard bead that comes factory fitted because a bead is not needed. I've been thinking about doing this. I've also got a mid rib bead aswell and it drives me nuts. I find it so tempting to look at both the beads and see if they are lined up. Bad habit that comes from shooting rifles as well I guess. When I just look at the target and ignore teh bead I shoot much better...probably because I don't stop swinging the barrel.
