dublin dezzy 1,023
the OP sounded like a good night out and well done ShaunovDerby.I personally don't have a problem with any of the actions described. However, I wish folk would think twice before putting up statements and pictures of those facts that may add fuel turn certain fires. The deer act states that deer should not be shot within an hour of sunrise and sunset. yes they can be tracked with 2 dogs if known to be injured and dispatched appropriately. They can also be shot after dark if are damaging fencing. If munty are damaging fencing to that extent, shoot the bloke who put the bleeding fencing up. I'd be sacked if a critter that size was knocking over any fence I'd put up. deer should not be shot within an hour of sunrise & sunset. i think you googled the wrong deer act there, that law is in america not uk. You sure about? that or are you an expert? Taking or killing of deer at night. Subject to sections 6 and 8 below, if any person takes or intentionally kills any deer between the expiry of the first hour after sunset and the beginning of the last hour before sunrise, he shall be guilty of an offence. http://www.legislati...91/54/section/3 Oh Shit, broke the golden rule. DON'T POST EVIDENCE!!!!!!!!!! fair juice,i hold my hands up i am wrong....i am no expert and therefore should not have made that commented.but in my defence i cant see you had to bring it up in the first place, instead of saying well done to the lad or not comment at all,as someone else said earlier why highlight it.? 1 Quote Link to post

I'd be sacked if a critter that size was knocking over any fence I'd put up. Some people talk some bollox, we do a bit of deer controll and openly admit most is at night, WHY well its usually at night the police phone telling us there is a wounded deer that needs putting down hit by a car or a horse, the deer run through electric fences letting sheep out that in its self is a serious problem, last month we had a herd of red deer and by day we could not find them but most nights they come down to the resovoir to drink they where causing problem on problem with the farms the stag was even attacking the larmas and had killed 2, the police and the rspca gave us permission to hunt these animals at night so there in it self shows its not completly illegal to kill deer at night, anyway my other point would be why is it illegal to kill deer at night??? is it an old poachers law or a new stalkers one?as deer feel no differant with a 224 bullet at night or in the day, Edited January 30, 2012 by whisperingeye 1 Quote Link to post
