Alli 923 Posted January 28, 2012 Report Share Posted January 28, 2012 HAD A WALK WITH 2 TERRIERS MUST HAVE CHECKED AT LEAST 10 GOOD EARTHS WITH NOTHING HOME, I NEW THERE WAS FOXES IN THE AREA, SO WENT BACK TO THE CAR AND GOT THE GUN TO DO SOME COVER WORK, THE DOGS SOON STARTED TO PUSH HARD INTO A STRIP OF WOOD, THEN I SAW 2 FOX SCULKING OVER THE BOTTOM OF THE FIELD TOWARDS A BIG STACK OF BALES, TRIED SHOUTING THE TERRIERS BACK BUT NO GOOD THAY WAS ON THE LINE AND INTO THE BALES, THAY WAS COLLARD UP SO WASENT BOTHERD, THAY KEPT FINDING MAKING CONTACT THEN OUT CAME THE FIRST I WAS ON THE OTHER SIDE AND MISSED IT, STILL THE DOGS WAS HAVING THE RUN AROUND UP DOWN, I THOUGHT IT WOULD HAVE BIN KILLED IN THE BALES IF BOTH TERRIERS WOULD HAVE FOUND AT THE SAME TIME, BUT IT BOLTED AFTER NEARLY 2HRS AND TURNING DARK AND A VERY CLEAN SHOT, A NICE LARGE DOG FOX, ILE BE OUT EARLY IN THE MORNING, ITS BIN A WHILE SINCE I WORKED ANY BALES, GREAT SPORT, THE DOGS WAS KNACKERD 3 Quote Link to post

fat man 4,741 Posted January 28, 2012 Report Share Posted January 28, 2012 The bales are a haven for fox,nice and snug and warm,now they are making the big square bales we dont get them in them so much as they are too tight together for fox to get into.Was over in derbyshire years ago on a hunting weekend and my mate entered his russell bitch in a huge stack.She made contact smack in the middle of the stack which was about 8 bales wide and the same maybe in height and this bitch took no prisoners.1 of the lads went to the farmer who in turn came with a teleporter and removed the bales so we could reach the bitch who at this stage had accounted for her fox to the farmers delight as he had lost a lot of his free range fowl so the day was saved along with us geting out the bitch without too much trouble.Great invention them teleporters,lol Quote Link to post
