morton 5,368
I have to chuckle when people say the Dales bunny,s are easy and slow,a rabbits a rabbit whether in the Dales or on the Downs, ive lamped up and down the country and always found that the ground you run on and the numbers it holds plays a significant role in the numbers accounted for. Most of the fields in the Dales are surrounded by drystone walls, the bunnys are enclosed which aids the lamping.Rabbits are not to difficult to catch with the average lurcher,so when the numbers are in front of you it sometimes seems easier. postie 425
Cheers for the invite mate, Paul was very happy with his dogs performance, and so he should be. I think it was Phil Lloyd who said "location, location, location", and he's dead right. By the way mate, your bitch impressed me, very determined but also steady. Speak to you soon. Millet 4,497
Is that it..41 poxy dale's bunnies.. ..i could of done better in the day time with my 10yr old lurcher and 14yr old terrier..i think you need to get back to the drawing board especially if your dog's are capable of 100 dale's bunnie's.. ..i mean.. come on..even a average dog could do better than that on the dale's bunnies.. ...no matter what the condition's because after all they are only dale's bunnies.. ..im not into number's myself but even on the dale's bunnies.. you should be hitting around the 100 mark everynight if the dog's are that good.. Concluding this crap thread you say even a bad dog can catch large number's..so what does that say about that poor effort in the picture.. .. 1 Quote Link to post

Giro 2,648
Not to put the cats arse to the fire.. However lol .. I heard that a fella had said " if your dog can do 30 odd around here,it will do fifty in the Dales" Now I have never been, I hear mixed reviews. I would be pleased on the night If me dog caught what was avalible, if it was 5 hard golf course rabbits or 30 easy rabbits. When done fella.. Post again when you gan on a night with better conditions, let us know how you do.. 7 Quote Link to post

Giro 2,648
2.8 whats been your best score up there?? My pal told me back in the 70 ~ 80s you could just roll up pay a farmer a fiver and ferret and get 60 plus in a afternoon. Was it just fit to burst in them days or was that pockets of rabbits in secluded places?? Different days now I imagine. I aint been but have been to places in northumberland ~ north penniens, where the rabbits where in good numbers they where easy compared to local rabbits I put this to them being very green and sitting tight most where short slips and had stone walls to bounce off. I also find fell type rabbits are a good couple of pounds heavier. I still recon any dog taking a decent amount of any type of rabbits most be a good dog not ever run will be easy.. 1 Quote Link to post
