Probably due to the very mild winter we are having ! Hope it stays this way. Cheers. rhe egg cycle has little to do with the temperature, it is to do with daylight hours. it could be minus 10 but if the hens are getting food and water and are health AND have extended periods of sunlight, they will lay. its about how long the bird is "awake" for to make the egg Yes; the days have been a lot lighter this winter, very little cloud cover, and if it wasn't for the cold, it would be like spring days, blue skys, sun !! Cheers.

Couple of questions about keeping hens 1.Do you think my dog would care about them running about? 2.Do you think having their coop beside a dog pen(with a big bad whippet lurking indide ) would keep a fox away? 3.Do they do much damage to grass, if that is where their run thing is? 4.Would they make much of a mess around my yard and patio (Shitting)?
