first lurcher! deer/greyxcollie/grey???

Recommended Posts

I had a dh/grey x collie/grey in the 80’s was a good dog, very easy to get along with and made a sensible general purpose type. I ran him on the South Downs and he coped well with the flinty ground compared to some. Took a few hares etc. Stood around 26”, thick broken coat.

At the mo I’ve a DH/Grey/Bull mix that has a similar temperament, think the DH helps to settle them. I’d agree with the post that states they take a little time to mature physically.

Some pics on the Mrs flikr of the latter.

Sorry the link didn't come up so stick it here, bottom of page http://www.flickr.com/photos/sandymere

the second pic down on here

is of the DH/gre x Collie/grey and a saluki hybrid that ran on the s/downs in the 80's

Westy I moved from sussex a good few years ago, now in devon where flint is a rarity thank god.. John, the ground can be pretty bad that way, I ran a lot around North Lancing, and all the dogs suffered to some extent.

I lived at the bottom of north lancing hill so know where you mean and the rangers are pretty hot there now.

Sandy i cant see the pic? Whats the ground like down in devon then? Big land? First light get some vids up buddy! Nice looking dog aswell. How tall was she? John
Try this link.

Pastel.

In Devon it's mainly small fields I run on, nearly all grass on beef and dairy farms. Plenty of mud but pretty easy on the dogs as far as injuries go.

Tidy looking animal First light.

i wouldnt of said it would of matter who was sire or dam, after all they are the same cross..i heard somewhere that pups tend to take to the mothers temperament, but i think that is utter bollocks too, as some pups are nuts and some pups seem dorsile as f**k lol cracking breed of lurcher what ever gave or recieved lol
