jeppi26 1,855
Never seen it done mate but if entered the right way thay could well take fox before the ban ;-) Quote Link to post
StevoSmith 147
Not to sure about that one....but like as has been said it could be theoretically possible but before the ban Quote Link to post

dannyevans1990 25
ye would have thought so they mite not be as tall or big but im sure theyd do the job Quote Link to post
RossM 8,149
As said if entered correctly I don't see why not, if a terrier is capable I don't see why a more agile, bigger dog can't. Edited to say I would rethink the whippet thing if fox is gonna be your chosen quarry. Quote Link to post
taffyboi 19
would a whippet take on a fox?or would it be a silly idea for a dog? THLpatrick 555
Like Junior said, its guna take alot of punishment and be more a fight than a quick clean kill, also your whippet would probably miss a few nights after each session. Quote Link to post
chartpolski 24,779
I suppose it depends on the type of Whippet you are talking about. I'm sure there is the odd Ped type that will take fox, but I wouldn't call them "fox dogs". The Non-Ped type, especialy the bigger ones should be able to do fox , but once again, I wouldn't class them as "fox dogs". Best thing , if you want to take fox, (where it's legal), get the correct dog for the job. Whippets of all types are grand dogs, but theres no point overmatching them, when there are far better crosses for the job. Cheers. 5 Quote Link to post
