which scope???

Recommended Posts

am currently using a hawk airmax scope 3-9 x 50 ir. but when im focusing on my target, i sometimes find it difficult to get the cross hairs in focus at the same time.

so my question is, is this caused by an error on my behalf, or is it just the scope?? also id like to know which sort of scope everyone is using, and why?? because im thinking of upgrading my scope. but not really sure sure what to go for. i use it for genral all purpose pest control. from rabbits to pigeons rats. etc etc. i dont have a massive amount of money available, but if you could give me some ideas of some good but affoardable scopes, i would appreciate it.

Hi Paul,

First of all point your scope at a blank surface I use my wall.

Then forget about the focus of the primary.objective lens.

Set your scope at eye length and use the rear focus ring to focus your reticle so its nice and sharp.

Once you have that done, lock the eyebell on place.

Then what ever you alter the front lense to the ret will remain in focus :D

I have a Tasco, a Hawke HD and a Leaupold MK4.

hi tony. its a hawke airmax 3. and it dosnt have an adjustable objective. it has the focus ring at the back end. and the magnification ring just in front of that. if i remember rightly on the older airmax it was adjustable at the front of the scope.??????
