  1. 1. What do you want Ian B to do with the site

    • Leave it as it is, most of the members make me feel good about myself
    • Delete all the non posters and morons and stop guests from being able to view the site
    • Delete all the non posters and morons, stop guests viewing the site and only allow people to join if they can be vouched for by a member
    • Leave it as it is but do a mass clear out of morons and non posters

I would like to see guests being unable to veiw anything other than an automated "your not a member so you are not allowed to view this topic" message. I would also like to see habitual troublemakers

Neither of the above for me.   I think it needs a good clean out, but i have never liked the 'having to be vouched for policy' that way forums become stale.   Many people who start hunting don't d

I tried composing a long, considered reply but then realised that my feelings on this subject could best be summed up with.....                       ......meh.

gender / location / photo / about me should all be filled out

I disagree with that bit, for many reasons including privacy and security

It has absolutely nothing to do with anyone else, where you live or what you look like, it would add nothing to the forum.

Gender is no biggy (your either male or female 99% of the time)

Location (I'm in Wrexham, which is a big place so don't mean jack)

Photo (I never said it had to be of them, I just said put a pic up)

About me (a couple of lines, to say what what your into and maybe your choice of hunting)

I don't think it would be to much of a biggy do you ???

Profile photo usually means a photo of yourself.

If you want to tell the whole world anything about yourself, then carry on, it is your choice, just as it is the choice of other people to be private....which is not much of a biggy either is it :D

gender/location etc is irrelevant, and you could lie anyway so whats the point?

well i understand that anything can be made up but, if ianb has the time to run the site then newbies should take the time to fill in a few spaces

I for one would have had no one to vouch for me when i joined up :cray: I knew no one in the hunting world and knew nothing about it....Thats why i joined up here. I am positive that i wouldn't know half the things about hunting that i do now if it wasn't for the members and the information held in this site.

I also don't post that much on here because I am still learning the answers to most of the questions that people ask, so a lot of the time I cannot reply as I do not know the answer myself, The only times that I can reply is when someone is asking the same questions that i did when i first joined up, so I am then able to pass on the information that other members passed on to me.

Regards

Dean

1. If you delete all the messers and trouble makers there would only be the moderators left.

2. Deleting or banning members will only get rid of their posting name, they can resign up very very easily again, as some do and have been caught out.

3. Concerns for the site with regards members and their input has been left by the roadside a long time ago. A tight ship would see a lot less members on here, but alot less appealing for advertisers and the like.

Let the reprobates say what they want to say and post what they want to post. When the big hand of the law comes tugging on their collar for armchair hunting, watch how quickly they soon lose interest in the site then. Let them police themselves. The usual disclaimers, as im sure Ianb has in pleace, he or moderators hold no part or share the same views posted from forum members. They aint the ones that will get in-to trouble.

Just my humble opinion of course.

This sums it all up really ;)
