moxon the spanial trainers books give a good account of how to go about the basics, just read through a good few differnt books and use the bits you want. I dont believe there is a diffinitive book available yet

dave sleigh i think his name is has a dvd out called purdy's progress...which is about training lurchers and he has part two of it out aswell

Basic, sit, stay and down is all you need.teach it to come when you want and your half way there

sounds easy! have got my staff that far! have a book called 'working springer spaniels' by Keith Erlandson which is very informative, will check out the dvds, cheers!

gundog training by amateurs by richard sharpe. good for basics and good retrieving section. most lurcher books just breeze over training. there is no advice for when things go wrong or problems occur. the gundog books are very informative not many of the lurcher ones are regarding training a lurcher pup.
