123456 146
the people that are 'poaching' thses pheasants have no interest in anything hunting related barring killing pheasants on the game estate

123456 146
In the last 12 months or so about 10-15 people have started shooting pheasants just for the sake of it and I'd imagine it'll only get worse

Swampy 147
Have a friend in Bere Alston who is telling a slightly different story from that which was printed. He hasn't been having any trouble. Rise in deer being taken and that's is a nationwide trait, (probably due to the recession and food prices. every one likes a bit o' cheap venison.) Not definate but possible connections with the estate have been mentioned. "Disgruntled employees" perhaps or someone with an axe to grind. Only heresay mind so i'm keeping a reasonably open mind about it. Four blokes held by a gamekeeper until the police arrived. Does raise some questions don't you think? Like how the hell did the plod get to the scene so quick? Its all very suspicious but like I say its just heresay at the moment. rgds Swampy. curious ning
123456 146
That could possibly be why so many people are doing it and getting away with it as like I said I can name around 15 people who are shooting the pheasants on the estate and most of them aren't being particularly subtle about it in anyway, they are simply going up there in cars with 4-5 lads and several guns and purely shooting them to shoot them after being shown it by another lad. I can gaurentee the lads shooting the birds are not the lads killing the deer as they don't own a gun or dog capable.
