micky 3,325
i've said , puncture marks on the neck, look at the snare ,its got a stop fixed to it Skin it, you will be able to see the type of damage better. i did moll ,nothing to see, if it was a fox there would be bite marks and broken ribs, there are none. Badger for me.........puncture wound behind ear probably a claw mark. there are no badgers in the area, the water table is to high , saying that ,one could have walked on ,but i doubt it. Tiercel 6,986
Just a guess but could it have been an otter? They do travel overland and do eat flesh other than fish. The rabbit has had it's backbone severed that would indicate an animal with powerfull jaws, mink possibly but I would think that is beyond a polecat or simular sized animal. Rolfe 2
Stoat found it.........Badger ate it Quote Link to post
huntmark 18
i would say something like polecat /ferret /stoat by the marks on the neck but say badger for the main damage Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Badger gets my vote, a fox woud have taken the other untethered half for later, even if it wasn't hungry Quote Link to post
