I've got one, a Carbine in .22 it was made in 1994 (send serial no. off to Webley and they should let you know year of Manufacture)

 

Its pretty basic, i've got a Webley Pro Silencer on it along with a Simmons Scope...its very powerful & accurate, and I dont struggle with it at 10-15-20-25-30meters...

 

Just paid £85 for mine, and after a little TLC last night, here it is;

Your Excels Looks a lot like mine.

 

The xocet is a very well made and one of the guns that just keep on going. Iv had it for 4 years now and it was secondhand then.

 

These older birmingham made webley Are basic but real workers.

The EXCEL was often considered as Webley's junior, entry level air rifle for medium range hunting. But it was much better than that. Well made with beautiful deep blueing, as were all Webley air rifles back in their day,

 

The only thing poor against it was that the trigger was unadjustable for let-off

 

I had one, in .22 flavour for some years and I still regret the day I let it go. I had mine fitted with a .22 Theoben gasram and it cocked and shot like a little dream, that really improved the trigger release characteristic. It was amazingly accurate and consistent. all the days I hunted with it.
