First season pup

Just put all the time you can into the dog and your half way there then mate, as thats what shows when it's older, do all the basics over and over then that some more lol just remember some take longe

you can only ruin a good dog by starting it to early...you could have same dog, start it young say 10m, rush it onto bigger stuff and youve frightend the dog and nocked all confidence out of the thing

Dam 3/4 grey x 1/4 bull .. Sire 3/4 saluki x 1/4 grey..this is what the breeding produced he took more of the bull look's but the saluki nature..good on bunnies ok on hare and other runner's..but jacked on his 6th fox..i still have him now at the age of around 10yr's old..

Dam 1/2 x bull grey..sire bull grey x saluki grey..he took more of the greyhound side..it was like a guided missile with some stamina to go with it..he straight lined a couple of hare's..ok on bunnies but would not take fox..mind you he was only 18mth old when i had to part with him for having shit feet..

Personaly i would never own this type of breed again..

Lesson in genetics there especially with top picture. Never know how they will throw.

you can only ruin a good dog by starting it to early...you could have same dog, start it young say 10m, rush it onto bigger stuff and youve frightend the dog and nocked all confidence out of the thing...then you could start it later on and take it easy progressing slowly and have a good un... i dont think there is an age where you can start a particular breed, but its common that dh type lurchers and taller big lurchers do take MORE time to mature, it is basically down to your instict if the pup or dog is ready to see what you have in store for it..all dogs can jack..who knows what is going through the mutts head? who knows...who knows?? lol

you can have a quiet sooky dog that will thrash anything given the chance..and then you can have some nasty mutts that dont show much intrest..you will only find out when the time is right i suppose, its the chance you take

Firstly may i saysome striking looking animals on this thread , i would say the line bred bull cross , would be a better type to use in the creation of the saluki x bull grey . The foot structure of tested stock should be passed on to the progeny , whereas fi bullx to f1 saluki greys , his edging towards they grey , of course there will be good uns bred this way ,one would be a fool to think not. personally a line bred bull x over agood fast type salukilurcher i would think produce on average a better animal for work on edible game , AND depending on the line of the bull x reduns should pose no problem . THE needs for good foot in the this x his like all a must . like with all the xs the grey while may pass good qualitys which in the main his speed , when one starts to keep topping up with grey the problems with feet tendons etc do start become a problem . speed from the coursing hound would be the way i would go one gets the extras no grey can offer, Ibelieve the buddy dog covered a bull x grey those whelps must be half grown by now . I could quite fancy a punch or havock bred bullx over a coursing hound . atb bunnys.
